The Carrus Care Program

Non Faith Based Mental Health
PHP/IOP

How Carrus Cares

The goal of Carrus is to transform healthcare through hope and healing. We accomplish that by focusing on children's mind, body, and spirit. Carrus Behavioral Health is now proud to offer, an alternative to traditional treatments for teens. In an effort to further support our mission of improving children's lives, we have launched Carrus Care, a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) available for children ages 8-17.

Often referred to as “Day Treatment”, this Monday through Friday, 6-8 week program is ideal for children who need a dedicated team working to teach them skills to maintain their own mental health while balancing school stressors, home stressors, friendships, and relationships.

Children will receive a full day of education and treatment guided by a Licensed Psychiatrist and Therapist and then will return home in the evening to apply what they have learned. The following day, the child will be encouraged to share with their Therapist how the application of their new skills worked for them.

This allows for real time feedback and adjustments to their personalized treatment plan ensuring the child's overall success. PHP/IOP is often a great transition for children when stepping down from an inpatient level of care or can also be used for children stepping up to a higher level of care than traditional counseling and psychiatry.

Carrus Care is proud to offer a one-of-a-kind 'Faith Based Program' and a 'Care Program' to ensure comfort and success for all children. It is our hope that the care and treatment children receive while at Carrus will help catapult them into success for the rest of their lives. We at Carrus understand that true outcomes lie in the effectiveness of our programs and the success of our children. Please call us today at 469-200-5353 for a free, same day, no cost assessment by a Carrus Staff member that Cares!

Treatment Model Used

Carrus has built a one of a kind, treatment program that encompasses a variety of treatment modalities to ensure every child finds success at Carrus. Instead of offering children one type of treatment, Carrus pulls from: CBT, DBT, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing, and many more which allows us to learn and develop the type of treatment that works best for each child.

Educational Services

Carrus Care works with each child's school district (if the family allows) to complete a Pre-hand off. This ensures the child's work is set up for a smooth transition for the kiddos to enter the PHP Program.  Carrus is leading the PHP industry with the amount of allotted education time built into the daily schedule. We also assist kids with their schoolwork while in our care to ensure no one falls behind.  When children are approaching discharge from Carrus, we again contact the child's school for another hand off.  We can provide 504 recommendations, strengths, and triggers to the school that we have discovered while working with the child to ensure continued success even after their time with us!

Wait List

Carrus does not currently have a wait list! Connect with a Licensed Therapist Who's Ready to Help You.

Ages We Serve & Group Sizes

We serve children ages 8-17. Our groups are small and provide individualized treatment planning.   This offers a great opportunity to listen, speak, and be heard on topics that are important. Sharing of triumphs and in-depth insights into what’s working for others, who are walking a similar paths is therapeutic. Carrus is one of the only facilities offering Individual Therapy and Family Therapy at the PHP/IOP Level

Assessment

Anyone can refer a Family/Kid to Carrus Care! Assessments are Free and can be scheduled the same day.

Admission, Treatment, and Discharge Plans

Each child has their own unique story which has lead them to treatment and their own learning style. Carrus understands treatment should not be one size fits all. Due to this, each child has their own individual plan. From the time of assessment all the way through discharge, Carrus communicates with the family every step of the way, constantly updating  them on progress and goals, learning styles and recommendations.

What is the Carrus Difference in PHP/IOP?

Family Packet

We understand weekends without treatment or the support of a therapist can be difficulty. On Fridays, Carrus sends home a Parenting Packet with each child. These packets provide patient progress, programmatic updates, and highlights strategies to address behaviors and facilitate conversation.  This helps our families and patients apply techniques and skills in real life scenarios, TOGETHER.

Communication

Our therapist understand that not all children thrive in a group setting. We are the only PHP/IOP that offers individual therapy and family therapy as a standard practice.

Education

Carrus understands the importance of education and the impact of mental health. We offer a substantial amount of time for education, that exceeds industry standard. Prior to admission and upon discharge, staff meets with school personnel to identify strengths and needs. This communication fosters a smooth transition and minimizes the impact to your child’s education. As advocates we can provide innovative 504 and IEP recommendations.

Continuation

Preadmission and post discharge planning directly with families, school staff, and other providers/facilities helps to create continuum care which fosters our mission of overall success for children.
